Tara Denlinger
Tara was born and raised in Southern Oregon. She’s been married for almost 20 years and has been a housewife/stay at home mom for all of those years. Her husband, Doug, is a Hotshot Superintendent and their son, Riley, is in college pursuing criminal justice. Tara brought her first stray cat home when she was just 10 years old! She’s been volunteering for Shelter Friends for over 10 years and has fostered over 200 kittens/cats! She and her family started volunteering with Shelter Friends because we offered the opportunity for her young son Riley to participate. It was a great way to teach him compassion for others.
Tara coordinates all the supplies for our foster program. She organizes and keeps our storage supply stocked with everything needed for our foster families to care for dogs, puppies, cats and kittens, she holds supply pickup days and will also personally deliver supplies to families if they can’t make it to storage!
Outside of fostering, Tara loves spending time in her garden, hiking and foraging for mushrooms…and hunting, but she assume most animal lovers don’t want to hear about that lol.
Tara is one of our key feline fosters, and we put this video together to showcase our foster program. This is a great way to learn about fostering and the contribution Tara and her family have made throughout the years.
