These furry friends have found their forever homes! Thank you to each of you who have allowed us to add to this list!

Shay

Hey, my eyes are up here! I know, I know, I’m quite the looker! My name is Shay and I am 1-2 years old presumed Husky Samoyed mix. I weigh about 58lbs, although it may look like more with all my fluff! I’m a social butterfly who is quick to make friends with people (including children) and other dogs. You see, I love making friends so much that sometimes I take it upon myself to let myself out on a walkabout. Then, once I’m out and about, I think chasing other animals is a fun game! They don’t tend to think so, though. 🙁 When I’m leashed or contained, though, I’m a gentleman with nice manners. I’m even housebroken! I’m just looking for a home that can keep me in–either giving my supervised exercise or a covered kennel. I promise I’ll make up for it with lots of love!
Available at the Josephine County Animal Shelter 1420 Brookside Blvd. Grants Pass, across from the Grants Pass Airport. 541 474-5458 When calling please press option 0. Hours open to the public 10 am – 4 pm every day except Sunday and posted holidays. Up to date on shots, spayed or neutered and micro chipped. You are encouraged to make every effort to visit the shelter for a meet and greet. Staff available to assist. You can walk on the trails and interact in the play yards. Unless otherwise noted, we can not say if your dog does well with cats, livestock or chickens or with the dogs you may already have in your home or at dog parks. So please, if you have a dog, please arrange to bring for a meet and greet. Current vaccinations, spayed or neutered and micro chipped.

Razor

Meet Razor! This good looking 3 year old weighs 87lbs. Razor is a loyal protector who is ready to be someone’s new companion! He is active, with nice manners, and is used to leash walking. He lived a lot of his life in a car, and has developed a keen sense of protection of his space, particularly from behind a barrier. Razor alert barks at strangers, so if you’d like to meet him, you won’t find him in our adoptable building–his barking from behind the fence can alarm people. Ask staff and they can bring him out for you. You’ll see that without the barrier, and behind that big bark, is a polite boy who is eager to make new friends. Razor is seeking a home where he can be the only pet.

Victor

My name is Victor and I’m a 4 year old male, Great American Shelter Dog- presumed lab mix with a wonderful blue grey coat. I’m about 60 lbs. I like to explore, sniff, and go on walks! I’m loyal and protective, and please don’t be offended if I bark at you from my kennel–I’m just doing my job! Take me out and you’ll see that I am quiet, polite, loving, and ready to explore. I’m active and always ready for the next adventure! I have been such a proper gentleman when meeting other dogs. Do you have a pack I can join?

Bailey

Cuteness alert!! Bailey, a pug/pit mix, is serving up some high levels of cute around here! She is about 1 1/2 years old, weighs 27lbs and is ready for a new home. Bailey takes a quick minute to warm up–but believe us–it is worth the wait! The fastest way to her heart is to ignore her, let her get comfy, and then…cookies! Bailey loves cookies and will plop her behind right down for one. Although she can be a leery of new people, once you’re in her inner circle, you are in for life. She is snuggly and playful, gentle and well-mannered. She has lived with kids, cats, and dogs, and was a friend to all. As you can see in the photo, Bailey has recently had surgery on her eye to fix a cherry eye. She just needs meds for two weeks and should not have to face the issue again!

Snoopy

Snoopy is a lovable 8 year old who weigh about 55lbs. Snoopy came to us in rough shape–he was very underweight and had an infection from a wound that had abscessed. Snoopy is now healthier and happier, and you can see it in his face! Snoopy enjoys playing with other dogs, but even more, prefers making people friends. Snoopy isn’t quite ready for adoption yet; he has a few more lbs to gain before he can be neutered and ready to go. So although it says neutered, is because he can not go to his new home util he has made his one time testicle donation.

Jayda

I’m Jayda! A presumed German Shepherd/border mix and I’m 4 years old and weigh 68lbs. The weather is getting colder…if you’re looking for a snuggle buddy, I’m your gal! I’m a leg leaning, butt wiggling, snuggle bug and a half! I’m playful, loyal, and take my job of protecting my home seriously. I’ve lived outside but am adjusting well to inside. I’m also potty trained! I’ve lived with children and am gentle. I’d love to find a home with my brother Zander posted below (if you adopt one of us, the other one is free!) since we are peas in a pod.

Zander

Zander, here! I’m a 7 year old boy who weighs 66 lbs. I’m polite, good natured and ready for a new home. I was an outdoor dog but I’m enjoying the transition to staying more indoors–and I am potty trained in the house, too. I’ve lived with kids and am gentle with them, as long as they don’t bug me too much when I have a bone. I’m usually not a big fan of other dogs but am a wonderful gentleman with people!

Raven

Raven is about 1 year old assumed Shepherd/border mix and weighs 50lbs. Raven is a social butterfly–she is quick to make new friends and has enjoyed getting to know new people here. Raven came to us as a stray, so not much is known about her background. Here, we have observed that she is social, playful, active, and SMART! This girl is looking for a job to do. She has an active body and a sharp mind and would thrive with someone working with her. Raven is seeking a home without other pets.

Muaz

Muaz is a 60lbs male who is about 2-3 years old. Muaz came to us as a stray, so we don’t know much about his background. Since being here with us, he has won over staff as a favorite with his wonderful manners and adorable personality. He is calm when it’s time to be calm, and playful when it’s playtime. He has made some canine friends here, too. Muaz is snuggly, gentle, and quiet, although certainly lets loose during playtime, too.

Blackjack

Meet Blackjack
Blackjack is a social butterfly who loves to be with people. He is a friendly, happy-go-lucky guy who enjoys playtime as much as nap-at-your-feet time. Blackjack is about 3 1/2 years old, weighs 66lbs, and is looking for a companion. His former owner was with him 24/7, so he gets a bit nervous when his person is away, but if you are looking for a buddy, he’s your guy! Blackjack is excitable around other dogs, and does well with tolerant dogs.

Vaccinations up to date, spayed / neutered, special needs. Blackjack has Heartworm. Shelter Friends will sponsor his treatment, which is a schedule of oral meds and 3 separate vet appointments for injections.
He tested positive for Heartworm; however, the vet tested and it came out negative; so we are having a test sent for more testing. If he is positive he will then looking for his Heartworm Hero to see him through his treatment!
