Happy Endings

These furry friends have found their forever homes! Thank you to each of you who have allowed us to add to this list!

Hank

Howdy! I’m Hank a presumed German Shepherd lab mix. I’m a 2 year old male who weighs 77lbs. My favorite things in this world are: toys and other dogs! I’m an outgoing, goofy, friendly boy who gets very excited about fetch time. Shyness is not really in my vocabulary. I also am very playful and friendly when meeting other dogs–haven’t found one I don’t like yet. Some may not like me, but hey, that’s their problem! I’m a vocal boy who likes to talk to you. I’m also pretty big and strong, so I’ll do best in the hands of someone who can match my zest for life!

Available at the Josephine County Animal Shelter 1420 Brookside Blvd. Grants Pass, across from the Grants Pass Airport. You are encouraged to call the shelter at 541 474-5458. You are encouraged to make every effort to visit the shelter for a meet and greet. Staff available to assist. You can walk on the trails and interact in the play yards. Roy

Roy is 2 years old and weighs 62lbs. This boy is a social butterfly, both with humans of all ages and other dogs. Roy loves to go on car rides and the more adventures, the better! We’re looking for a human to keep him adventuring so that he won’t take it upon himself to seek solo fun (he likes to explore if given the chance!), but with human companionship, he would be a great match for an avid walker, hiker, or jogger! Roy is also a BIG fan of chickens….too much of a fan..they are tasty….so he is looking for a home with no chickens to tempt him.

Available at the Josephine County Animal Shelter 1420 Brookside Blvd. Grants Pass, across from the Grants Pass Airport. You are encouraged to call the shelter at 541 474-5458. Shasta

Sweet Shasta is seeking that special someone! Shasta is about 6 months old and has quickly stolen our hearts. This girl looks like she is going to be quite large as she grows into her giant paws! Shasta was found running loose, so her history is a mystery. It’s clear that she is a lovebug–she is affectionate, sweet, and very well-mannered. It’s not clear how much experience with the outside world this girl has had! Her go-to move is to flatten herself on the ground like a pancake when she is unsure–her camouflage doesn’t work too well because her large rudder of a tail never stops wagging and whapping the ground behind her! Shasta is looking for a new home who will help socialize her and show her that the world is a lovely place filled with fun adventures and new friends! We don’t think it will take much to get this girl out of her shell, because of how good-natured and loving she is.

Henrietta

Introducing the lovely Henrietta, a 3 year old beauty who has lived with kids and other cats in the past. She is affectionate, loves a soft blankie and has a loud purr… but prefers interaction with people to be on her own terms until she knows you. She has gorgeous fur with striking coloring and a quirky little tail. Come in and meet her today!

Pup Pup

Meet Pup Pup
Pup Pup is a 3 year old boy pit mix who is 75lbs. Pup Pup is a friendly, snuggly guy who is looking for a new family to join. Pup Pup has lived with cats and dogs before! Pup Pup loves playtime and is a big goofball, once you get him out of his shell. He is getting used to all the new things in this big wide world, and so far, he likes it! He can be reserved a but at first, but does great with reassurance. Pup Pup will do best in a quiet home without a lot of traffic.

Raksha

Raksha is about 8 years old and weighs about 40lbs. This girl is going to need a very special home who can give her lots of TLC. Raksha’s history is a bit of a mystery, but we think she may have been on her own for some time. Raksha took quite some time to warm up to us and has been making huge strides since her arrival! She is no longer the terrified, statue who hides in the back corner of her kennel–she enjoys playtime with other dogs in the yards, going on walks, and taking treats. Leashes are still new and a bit scary, but they also lead to adventures! Raksha is very comfortable with other dogs and it’s clear she has been around them before. With humans, it can take her some time to get to know you, and she can be skittish in new situations–doorways need a close eye, so she doesn’t dart. She seems to prefer the outdoors and will even root up a little den in the dirt to sleep in when she can. Through all of her shyness, she has never once shown us anything negative towards us–no growling, nothing of that sort. She got a full brush out, bath, and nail trim and tolerated it all very politely. This girl has a long way to go and will need a patient, understanding home to help fold her into normal life and teach her that these things are not as scary as she thinks they are!
