Rojo

Hello! My name is Rojo a presumed pit mix.  Best said with an extra roll on the r 🙂 I am estimated to be about 8 years old and I weigh 59lbs. I am one smart cookie!! Give me a treat and you’ll see–I tend to go through all my tricks at once. Anyone else do that? I sit, shake, roll over, spin in a circle, lay down, etc. It is clear someone worked with me quite a bit–however, I was found running loose, so there is no other history on my background. I am a confident fella, and I meet people politely. I have met some dogs politely, but don’t always have the best manners, so I need slow intros. I love toys and love to be with my person. Identified as a senior my fee is $50.

Milo

Meet Milo
Hi, I’m Milo! I’m a 3 year old boy (almost 4) who weighs 43lbs. I am the epitome of “happy-go-lucky”–one look in my direction and my tail starts wagging. I am a social butterfly who doesn’t not understand the word “stranger.” I am a wiggly, boundy boy who is quick to make new friends–with new dogs, too! I’m playful and polite with my canine companions. I am a hound through and through, so please be prepared for my busy nature and my tendency to follow my nose. I just don’t like to get bored, what’s wrong with that? I get along with most dogs and children.

Lyla

Meet Lyla a presumed German Shepherd husky mix.
Alrighty folks–if you are looking for the total package, look no further! Sweet Lyla is 1 year old and weighs 83lbs (although she should be closer to 73… 🙂 ). Lyla is an affectionate, snuggler who has gentle manners with people. She has lived with cats, dogs, and children before. She is a gentle companion, but a loyal protector and alerts when people she doesn’t know arrive. Although Lyla can be shy at first, the outer shell is worth cracking through, to get to the warm, gooey middle. Belly rubs, couch snuggles, leg leans–all are her M.O. Once introduced to her inner circle, you are in for life ♥

Mildred

Meet Mildred, a sweet senior Bichon who is pretty much blind- with moderate hearing. She is in her golden years, perhaps 13yrs+. What can we say about her? She was found as a stray, so not much is known about her history. She is currently in a foster home and this is what her foster mom has to say about her. ” She enjoyed her visit to the beauty parlor; we are still working on the eye staining. She wants to be with people or other dogs to hang around; although she doesn’t interact with other pooches, it seems to bring her comfort knowing they are there. She gets around well, sort of like a Roomba vacuum, so sharp things should be out of the way to protect her eyes. She loves to trot around the yard sniffing for about 30 minutes or so; then she makes her way up two steps and waits at the door to come in. She enjoys a big comfy pillow to nestle in when she goes for a nap. In the evening- she delights to be in your bed nuzzled next to you and she will sleep all night. She totally enjoys being on your lap and welcomes gentle rubs across her back and down her ears. Ms. Mildred has a great appetite and very good potty manners. The ideal home would be with a retired senior family who just wants a lap lady. She is a happy thing deserving of an attentive family to love her evermore.

Gambino

Meet Gambino a presumed terrier chihuahua mix.
Meet Gambino! This pint-sized package of joy is ready to find a new family to love! He weighs just under 10lbs and is about 3 years old. Gambino was found running loose, so we don’t have any background on him. Here at the shelter, he has been nothing but sweet to us, loving meeting new people and being a very good patient for his exams and vaccines. Gambino’s finder reported that he was a quiet boy overnight at her house, with no potty accidents. Gambino can be a bit nervous around other dogs, and does not seem to have too much experience with them. We are working on it, though!

Elvis

Meet Elvis a presumed border collie.
Elvis is 2 yr 9 months old and weighs under 50lbs. This lovebug of a boy will instantly nuzzle into your lap for hugs and pets. Elvis was used to living on a farm, with other animals, including dogs, and has been around livestock. He has met new dogs here at the shelter politely, and prefer females or more respectful dogs–he is not a fan of rough players. Elvis is smart as a whip and just yearning to please his new companion. He would probably do best in an adult-only home (or older children, 12+) that could help him acclimate to indoor-living, since he was primarily an outdoor dog before. We can’t wait to meet the lucky person who gets to call Elvis their own!! 🙂

Blaze may be in a 20lb body, but his personality is BIG! This boy is confident, social, and outgoing. He loves to explore and go on adventures! Blaze is estimated to be about 5 years old. He is not a fearful dog and meets new people very politely. He has met some dogs politely, but does better with females. Blaze is a spunky, fun guy who would love to find a new home!

Diva

And now please meet Diva. She came to us as a stray so we don’t know much about her… except that she is a beautiful, affectionate, talkative girl! She’s about 3 years old and has quickly become a staff and volunteer favorite. Her striking markings have been described as “torbi,” a mix between torti (or tortoiseshell) and tabby. She’s absolutely lovely – please come meet her and see for yourself!

Queso

Hi, my name is Queso, a prsumed mastiff mix–and who doesn’t love queso?! I am a big boy who is about 1 1/2 yrs old and weighs 75lbs. I came in with another dog, and have enjoyed meeting some of the other dogs here, too. I am a lovebug who loves to give you my hand to make sure you don’t stop petting me. I am not very polite on a leash right now–I treat every walk like the Iditarod–but I am getting better with the assistance of gentle leaders and other such apparatuses. I’ll be available after my neuter 9/3.
