We have a special guest to introduce! Marbles is an approximately 4 yr old boy Lab mix who weighs 80lbs. When Marbles was brought into the shelter, he was timid, avoidant, and wary. He was curious; he might grab a treat, then quickly retreat into his safety bubble. He also had swelling on his face the size of a baseball!! It didn’t take long for us to earn his trust, and Marbles just melted into our arms. He is a totally affectionate, sweet boy. We were able to get him to the vet, who found that his swollen face was a result of a cyst in one of his salivary glands. Shelter Friends was able to sponsor the procedure to have the cyst removed and now Marbles is feeling great!! He still can be wary when he is unsure, but his confidence is soaring! Marbles is enjoying walks from shelter volunteers and is learning to play with other dogs–he was not a fan of other dogs at first, but with some of our calmer, gentle shelter guests, he is learning that they aren’t all that bad. We think that he may be able to acclimate to living with other dogs with some continued socialization. We are big fans of Marbles and think you might be, too!
